Paw on the laptop, looking up at me with those big amber eyes. She wants something and I already know I’m going to give it to her. One look is all it takes. My willpower crumbles like a house of cards every single time.

She’s perfected this move into an art form. The gentle paw placement, then that upward gaze with her head tilted just so. It’s a whole routine and it has a 100% success rate. I’m basically her personal vending machine at this point.
